Ethics Statement for JKAU-IE

The Journal of King Abdulaziz University-Islamic Economics (JKAU-IE) is committed to the highest standard of both scholarly review and professional publishing judgment. It is essential that all who involve in producing the journal in one’s capacity as author, reviewer, and editor are strictly adhering to the highest level of professionalism and ethical standard. Research submitted to the journal is put through a rigorous review (double-blinded peer review) and careful editorial process before one is accepted for publication. By submitting a manuscript to JKAU-IE, each author explicitly confirms that, the submission meets the highest ethical standard from the author and co-authors including proper statistical investigation and thorough ethical review by the data owning organization. Authors are required to ensure that, they have written and submitted only original works, and if they have used the work and/or words of others, an appropriate citation is made. Authors must guarantee that, their submitted works contain no component that can be construed as libelous or as infringing in any way on the copyright of another party. Authors are also required to ensure that, the manuscript submitted to the journal has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere in any form.

The journal through its editorial process ensures that, manuscripts submitted should contain sufficient details and references enabling others to verify the work should one be required. Likewise, the JKAU-IE is committed to the ethical standard by complying with its own editorial policy. The editorial board of JKAU-IE takes the issue of plagiarism or any other form of fraud and misconduct in any submission, very seriously. The Journal has a zero-tolerance policy regarding these issues and authors resorting to such ways are either strictly warned or promptly black-listed depending upon the seriousness of the misconduct. The editorial board of JKAU-IE ensures with their best capacity that, both the review and the editorial process remain confidential, fair, unbiased, and transparence. Both editors and reviewers are required to recues themselves from considering manuscripts in which they have conflict of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships/connections with any of the authors, companies or institutions connected to the papers. The editors of JKAU-IE do their utmost, as is humanly possible, to ensure that all published material are accurate, complete, and free from all types of errors. However, in instances where an editor finds that a significant error has been published for which a correction needs to be made, the JKAU-IE ensures that the record is set straight by issuing corrections and retractions when needed. Any detected cases of misconduct, whether on the part of authors, reviewers or editors, are vigorously pursued and promptly dealt with sternly. To support and promote integrity in research publication, the journal’s editorial board fully endorses the position statement for editors and authors that were developed in the 2nd World Conference on Research Integrity held in Singapore in 2010.
