Islamic Economics Institute

Dean’s Message

It gives me great pleasure to launch the new web page for the Journal of King Abdulaziz University: Islamic Economics. The journal has the honor to be the first professional journal in the field of Islamic economics. It started publishing in 1403H (1983) under the title, “Journal of Research in Islamic Economics, closely following the watershed Conference held by the King Abdulazaiz University in 1976. That Conference heralded the emergence of a new paradigm for economics based on Islamic values. I am sure; many of you have been visiting the journal’s site and benefitting from the immense and valuable research published in its past issues. As a service to the discipline, we have kept the journal a free-access journal.

The new web page, in addition to giving it a more attractive look, has added many new features as you may notice. In near future, we plan to add yet more features to the site. I take this opportunity to seek your observations and suggestions for future development of the site. At the same time, may I request all of you to kindly send the link to the journal’s site to your contacts. Together, we can build a better intellectual heritage for the new generations with the hope that Islamic economics and finance will reach ever new heights.
