Dr. Abdullah Q. Turkistani (2020)

Abdullah Turkistani holds a PhD degree in economics - with thesis in External Debt in Arab Counties - from Leicester University - UK; and MA degree from University of Colorado - USA in Economics.

Abdullah taught at Leicester University and is teaching now at King Abdulaziz University (KAU) several courses in bachelor and master levels such as: Quantitative Analysis, International Finance, economic theory, Islamic Financial Institutions and Islamic Financial Transactions. He is interested in topics related to Islamic finance and economic integration; he published some papers and books in Islamic Banking and Finance and in economic integration. He has been Participating in several local and regional and international conferences as paper presenter or session chairman or a keynote speaker. Abdullah Turkistani is assistant professor in the department of economics of Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at KAU. 

Abdullah organized - and organized - many conferences, workshops and courses in Islamic Economics and Finance in Saudi, Europe and UK. Such as: The workshop on Islamic Finance in the 2012 Gulf Research Meeting at University of Cambridge. He started working as director of the Islamic Economic Research Center in 2007 until 2010. Then he is the dean of the Islamic Economics Institute at KAU since 2011. During this period, three departments established and three postgraduate programs launched in addition to establishing a training unit. He participated in the Establishment and in running two important academic entities of collaborations. Namely the Chair of Ethics and Financial Norms at Pantheon Sorbonne Paris 1 University - Paris. The other one is the Saudi-Spanish Center for Islamic Economics and Finance at ie University - Madrid.
