The study of the Geographic Ingredients of Tourism Development in the Oasis of Al-Ahsa in the Eastern Province, KSA, aims to identify the characteristics of tourist destinations in the oasis and their geographical distribution and its role in tourism development. The study has tried to achieve several goals- to identify geo-natural ingredients of tourism activity such as climate, terrain and vegetation, as well to study the fundamentals of human activity such as tourism monuments, tourist facilities and tourist services, in addition to the identification of efforts to develop tourism in the oasis and the utilization of available resources in its development.
To achieve the objective of the study the researcher collected information and data on the from first-hand on the field study and interviews, as well as secondary sources published and unpublished, and issued by the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities and the Secretariat of Al Ahsa Development Council of Tourism and Antiquities, as well to books, research reports, as relevant to studies tourism following the inductive & deductive approach, using historical, descriptive and quantitative method in collecting data and analysis.
The research consists of six chapters: Chapter one deals with the introduction. Chapter Two treats, the subject of theoretical framework and previous studies. Chapter three discussed Tourism development in KSA, and in Al-Ahsa Oasis. Chapter Three discusses structure of the research of tourism development in the Kingdom and Oasis. Chapter Four deals with the fundamentals of geographical tourism activity in the Oasis of Al-Ahsa. Chapter Five deals with the assessment of the role of geographic ingredients of the tourism development in the oasis. Chapter six concluded the conclusion.
This study has reached several conclusions about the geography of the oasis and its role in the development of tourism through tourist destinations. The research concludes with a series of recommendations based on search results, which could contribute to the support of official bodies and institutions interested in tourism development, in planning for sustainable tourism development in the Oasis. |
