Abstract : The research aimed to transfer the trappings of some traditional clothes for the southern region of Saudi Arabia to digital printing, and marker making the proposed designs for traditional clothes to save waste of fabrics and research the possibility of printing the proposed designs for traditional clothes for the southern region in Saudi Arabia on fabric in multiple sizes, in line with the Kingdom’s vision 2030 to achieve sustainable development, including focusing on industry. The research followed the descriptive analytical approach to achieve the objectives of the research and the quasi-experimental Design to achieve the hypotheses of the research. The research sample consists of (21) specialists faculty members and (10) factories represented by producers in ready-made garment factories.The research tools consist of the questionnaire to measure the opinions of specialists and producers on waste percentage of the printed fabrics that produced by the proposed marker making method, and the evaluation scale to measure the opinions of specialists and producers on evaluating the designs that cut by the proposed spreading and cutting method. The result showed the possibility of converting the stitches and trappings of some traditional clothes of the southern region (Al-Thawb Al-Asiri) to the digital printing method, and batch production of the traditional clothes, and saving fabrics waste through marker making, spreading, and cutting the printed traditional clothes, and achieving sustainability in the production of the proposed contemporary traditional clothes in ready-made garment factories. The research recommended reviving the Saudi heritage represented in traditional women’s clothing for all regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by conducting analytical studies on its stitches and trappings, and improve them by using new technical methods, to preserve them from extinction and to link originality with contemporary. Also, keeping up with modern technological developments in preparing traditional clothing patterns by digital printing methods. In addition, following the new methods in marker making, spreading, and cutting fabrics to reach the least waste of fabrics. Directing ready-made garment to improve the quantitative production process of the traditional clothes by using technology to achieve sustainability. key words Sustainability, Digital printing, Traditional clothing, Marker making, Fabric Spreading, and cutting
