Abstract : Human trafficking is a global problem, no country is immune from the crimes of human trafficking and its danger has increased worldwide, as it is committed by transnational organized criminal groups that take advantage of the globalization of technology. However, the UN adoption of the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children, supplementing the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (2000) represents a quantum leap by advancing the fight against trafficking in persons, punishing perpetrators, protecting victims and the strengthening international cooperation in this area. To identify the dimensions of human trafficking, this study applies a comparative analytical methodological framework to review, extrapolate, and analyze the texts of human trafficking laws, and compares the Saudi Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law with the human trafficking laws in France, the USA, the UAE and Egypt. The study is divided into three chapters, with the first chapter dealing with the understanding of human trafficking, its definition, elements and factors. The second chapter compares and analyses the provisions of criminalization and punishment in human trafficking laws and the third chapter deals with the role of international and regional organizations in combating human trafficking and the role of Saudi Arabia in combating human trafficking. The study concludes that slow individual efforts are not enough to combat this heinous crime, as it takes place transnationally and its hidden nature. Therefore, it is important to intensify legislative and administrative measures at the national, regional and international levels. Key words: Palermo protocol, international law, human rights, trafficking in persons, organized crime
