In light of the recent regulatory developments taking place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a result of the Saudi Vision 2030, the scope of the application of labor inspection has expanded. From this point of view, our study aims to demonstrate the supervisory role played by labor inspection in controlling labor violations, and to identify the concept of labor inspection according to the recent developments that Introduced to this concept. In addition, the study aims to address the structure of the labor inspection body and the mechanism for organizing its visit programmes.Our study also deal with the types and scope of inspection visits, the statement of the organizer's position on regulating the responsibilities and powers of labor inspectors, shedding the light on the labor violations that are most focused on during the inspection visits, in addition to the mechanism for controlling labor violations, and the subsequent phase of that. The study reached its results by using the analytical approach, through an introductory section dealing with the concept of labor inspection and its developments, and the structure of the inspection body, followed by two main chapters that dealt with the first legal components of the control of the labor inspectorate by addressing the statutory rules for inspection visits in the first section, and the rules regulating the control of inspectors in the second topic; afterwards, we discussed in the second chapter the statutory determinants for controlling labor violations, through the first section, which dealt with the statutory powers of labor inspectors, while the second topic dealt with the subsequent stage of controlling labor violations.
Finally, the study reached the following results and recommendations, firstly, the regulator dealt with the supervisory role of labor inspection in controlling labor violations efficiently, in addition to that the regulator did not explicitly specify the scope of conducting inspection visits, but merely indicated implicitly that the scope of the labor inspection procedure is associated with the scope of application of the provisions of the labor system. Secondly, the last table of violations and penalties only mentioned one type of Labor violations, in violation of what was stated in the Labor Law and its Executive Regulations, which indicated that there are two types of labor violations. Based on the results, we recommend that the organizer shall explicitly specify the scope on which inspection visits are valid. In addition, we recommend that the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development shall clarify the latest list of violations and penalties, which only referred to one type of violation, and did not refer to the other type, which raises the question: Was this type of labor violation canceled or not?
