Abstract : This study addresses the legal protection of the rights of persons with disability in Saudi Arabia in comparison to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which was adopted in 2006. The author of this study highlights the most important rights that guarantee a disabled person their independence and integration into society, namely the rights to education and culture, and the right to work. Other rights permeate the rights of the disabled persons is also presented, such as the right to equality, to indistinguishable opportunities and non-discrimination, to integration and the right to accessibility. The aim of this study is to illustrate the extent of compliance with the Kingdom's obligations to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in terms of legislation and practice, and to assess the manifestations of strengths and weaknesses in implementation. The study was not devoid of suggesting solutions and citing examples of comparable legal systems to advance the Saudi legal system to provide effective protection of the rights of the persons with disabilities.
