Abstract : The aim of this study is to know the using of BSC in developing and improving the performance of Saudi non-profit public institutions. The research problem was to evaluate BSC and to examine the effectiveness of its use and application to achieve the objectives required by the Saudi non-profit public institutions where the objectives and strategies of these institutions are varied and submit proposals related to the development of the application of balanced scorecard in the Saudi non-profit public institutions. In order to achieve the aim of this study, the researcher developed a questionnaire to collect the main data of this study based on previous studies in this field. In order to verify its validity and stability, it was presented to a group of specialists in the field besides distributing the questionnaire to an exploratory sample from outside the study sample composed of (30) accountants from the employees of the Saudi public institutions. After the verification of the validity and consistency of the questionnaire, it was distributed on (200) members of the study sample from the departments of accounting in the Saudi non-profit organizations in Riyadh where they were selected randomly. The number of valid questionnaires was 141. The study have reached to a number of results including; Emphasize the importance of applying Balanced Scorecard as one of the most important modern approaches to measuring performance. The importance of applying a balanced performance card in public non-profit institutions is to improve and enhance aspects of performance; strategy, resource allocation, decision making, and competitiveness. Saudi non-profit public institutions pay great attention to the development of products or services to meet customer needs. There is a lack of adequate cooperation between the departments of the institution, which affected the application of Balanced Scorecard in the Saudi non-profit public institutions.
