The current study focuses on the Impact of partnership between the public and private sectors on the quality of health services in hospitals, an empirical investigation on King Fahd General Hospital and United Doctors Hospital in Jeddah. In order to identify the factors that shapes the public-private partnership in hospitals and explore the impact of these factors (cost reduction, risk allocation, service development, efficiency, economic benefits) on improving the quality of health services. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive analytical method. The data collection method represented by the research questionnaire which consists of two sections. The first section represented by demographic data and the second section consists of the independent and dependent dimensions. which aims to identify the impact of public-private partnership (cost reduction, risk allocation, service development, efficiency, economic benefits) on improving the quality of health services in hospitals in Jeddah. The study was conducted on a sample of (350) out of (4233) employees, administrative staff, doctors and supporting medical departments (nurse, pharmacist, laboratory technician, and radiologist). The retrieved number of questionnaires was (212) represented 60.5%. The study concluded with a number of conclusions, the most important of which is that the partnership between the public and private sectors in all five dimensions (cost reduction, risk allocation, service development, efficiency, economic benefits) contributes to improving the quality of health services in hospitals. Was the most influential (followed by efficiency), while the focus of (distribution of risks) as the least important impact on the quality of health services, and this indicates the existence of a significant relationship between the public sector and private sector in all five dimensions and the quality of health services. The main recommendations of the study are: adopting the partnership between the public and private sectors, especially in important areas such as health care to improve the health services provided, which is reflected in sustainable development in Saudi Arabia. Creating an organizational climate that helps implement the concept of partnership between the public and private sectors, especially in the field of health care. The importance of having a neutral official sponsor that defines policies and laws for partnership projects between the public and private sectors. Creating a competitive environment between the public and private sectors in various fields, especially in the field of health care. To raise awareness among the health service providers in the Kingdom of different sectors of the importance of partnership between the two sectors and the need to activate them because of its importance to benefit the development of quality and the advancement of the national economy. Disseminate lessons learned from PPP projects regionally and globally and distribute them periodically to all stakeholders, helping them achieve better management and operation of their projects as well as increasing the likelihood of success. |
