The family is the most important educational institutions responsible for protecting their children and guiding them, can affect positively toward the unsafe use of the internet among adolescents. And that being through the methods that used in the treatment of children. Where adolescents are more susceptible to risk, threat or violation of privacy, and that being by certain unsafe behaviors on the internet. This research aims to find out the relationship between the unsafe use of Internet among high school female students and parents style. To achieve research goal, the descriptive relational has been used. Where also research tools that being via questionnaires, have been implemented. And this was done through the implementation of the unsafe use of the Internet and the parent's style survey. All of the above have been prepared by the researcher. Random sample has taken off about 522 female Students from government high schools at Jeddah city. One of the most important research findings commonness of the unsafe Internet usage among students at a ratio of (40%) and "Exposure to Inappropriate Material" is the most common in the ratio of (56%), Followed by “Disclosure of personal information” at the ratio of (42%). Also, it was found that "sexual solicitation over the Internet," one of the most risk is the unsafe use of the Internet at the ratio of (36%). Furthermore, the results show that the Authoritative style is the most common style in the treatment of student at a ratio of (59.6 %), followed by Permissive style at a ratio of (59%). Moreover, The results showed that there are a statistically significant reverse relationship at the level (0.01) between the whole degree of Unsafe usage of the Internet and Authoritative style by both parents, and The existence of a statistically significant positive relationship at the level (0.01) between the whole degree of Unsafe usage of the Internet and Parenting styles (Authoritarian, Neglectful, Permissive) style by both parents, and The use of parent to the Authoritative style contributes to limiting the unsafe use of the Internet among high schoolers, Thus, the researcher recommends to the importance of Guiding students to how to safe use of the Internet, And focus on the risk of unsafe behaviors on the Internet through extracurricular activities and Indicative programs, And help the family to do its job in protecting children on the Internet, organizing workshops, seminars, and meetings about the safe use of the Internet. |
