Abstract : This research interested in innovation of metallic lighting units, inspired by geometric Islamic patterns, which suitable with interior design of hotels dining halls, through the researcher asked: what is the possibility of benefits from geometric Islamic patterns to innovate metallic lighting units with an Arab-Islamic identity suitable with the interior design of hotels dining halls? The research aimed to study and analyze metallic illumination units of the Islamic Ages, and the geometric designs of illumination units of some hotels dining halls, in addition to recognize on different illumination units, and it is suitable with the interior spaces. The researcher depends on the descriptive analysis approach for some metal lighting units in the Islamic Ages, and dining hall of the case study hotel. She activated an application program to design lighting units with an Arab-Islamic character that consistent with the functional and aesthetic considerations for interior design in the dining halls. The study applied on Al-Nafourah Restaurant in Park Hayat Hotel in Jeddah, and it depended on create group of lighting units, which appropriated with the studied dining hall from its environmental and traditional nature.
