Abstract : This study aims to recognize the role of the internal work environment in Jeddah Municipality (i.e., participation in decision-making process, collective work, administrative communications) in organizational commitment. The study has employed the analytical descriptive approach. To this aim, and collect the necessary data and information, a questionnaire composed of 43 paragraphs has been designed and analyzed according to the necessary statistical tools and instruments. The questionnaire has been rolled over Jeddah Municipality personnel using the random sample. Only 385 proper questionnaires, which have satisfied the criteria of analysis, come back. Findings of the study revealed the following. Total responses provided by members of the sample group to the independent variable (that is, internal organizational environment with its dimensions) have been positive. Also, the total average responses provided by members of the sample group to the topic of organizational commitment in general have been positive. The study has concluded a direct relationship between the internal work environment on one hand and the level of organizational commitment on the other. Emotional commitment has been the most prevalent patterns in Jeddah Municipality. As well, there are no differences in the level of organizational commitment in Jeddah Municipality, which may be attributed to the variable of age or years of experience. Meanwhile, there is a weak direct relationship between the academic qualification and the level of organizational commitment of Jeddah Municipality. The study has made a number of recommendations as follows. Administrative leaderships shall develop the organizational commitment; support participation of staff in the decision-making process; reinforce work groups because of its role in effectively performing tasks and duties; and cement the role played by administrative communications for its significance.
