Different areas are explored to examine this topic; trends and opinions of the study societies toward KM applications, sources of knowledge used, KM applications implemented, in addition to determine the similarities and differences between the two societies in this regard. The study provides knowledge sharing process guidelines applicable in the study societies and other similar ones. The questionnaire was designed in the light of the previous studies and the idea of the study itself and distributed to the participants electronically. The number of questionnaires returned was (329) in a rate of (72%). The results of this study indicated that there is interest in knowledge management applications, though these applications are not implemented institutionally as they were not included within the administrative structures of these organizations. The results also showed that the employees trend toward knowledge management applications was "positive" and amounted to (4.10) for the Royal Commission society, and (4.13) for Kayan Company society out of (5.00), while the total staff satisfaction with the reality of these applications in their societies were (2.70) for the Royal Commission society and (2.95) for Kayan Company society out of (5.00), and with (neutral) degree of satisfaction. With regard to the comparison between the study societies, the results indicated there are differences between the two societies in some and consensus in others. Based on these findings, the study provided number of recommendations including: adoption and support by senior management in the two communities of knowledge management applications in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, products and services, applying the benchmarking tool with advanced organizations, making new knowledge management applications departments, and increase the focus on knowledge management systems and techniques.
