Abstract : The study describes and analysis the alignment between IT and human resources management systems in the four companies of the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) in the province of Yanbu. The problem of the study comes from not being able to unite the efforts of human resources management systems and information technology or lack of training attention of human resources on the applications of information technology or lack of interest in choosing employees who are able to deal with these technical are errors common in many companies. Including the four companies from Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) operating in the province of Yanbu ( Yanbut , Ibn Rushd, gas ,and Yansab). This study Came for the purpose of identifying the extent of alignment between IT and human resources management systems through the test of six criteria (Communications , Value Measurement, Governance, the maturity of the partnership between IT and human resource management, Scope and Architecture, and Skills), in order to identify the importance of alignment between IT and human resources management systems to achieve study`s objectives, and how this alignment can be applied in practice in the private sector. And knowledge of the constraints that limit the organization form improving the relationship between human resources management systems and information technology as well as identify the factors that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of this relationship in the companies under study. To answer the study questions and test hypotheses that explain the difference between the variables descriptive of the study sample (The company, Age, Academic qualification, The degree of English proficiency, and The extent of knowledge of the use of computers, whether operating or applications), so the researcher conduct a personal interview with the directors of human resources departments and heads of units information technology in each company of the four companies. And also to collect the data necessary to analyze the environment of the study, the researcher applying a questionnaire which was used in the design of a questionnaire (Luftman), and distributed to all managers and supervisors of units of information technology and human resources departments in the four companies, who are (35) employees .The study results showed that the degree of alignment between IT and human resources management systems in the four companies are (focused) by (Luftman) measuring instrument , which means a process of alignment aimed at uniting the efforts of two resources or more to coordinate the work and joint planning to achieve the overall objectives of the company, and there was a statistically relation at the level of significant (0.05) between the descriptive variables (Company, Academic qualification) and between the degree of alignment between IT and human resources management systems. And there was no statistically relation at the level of significant (0.05) between the variables (age, degree of fluency in English, the ability to use computers), and the degree of alignment between IT and human resources management systems in the companies under study. The researcher has proposed a model of strategic alignment between information technology and human resources management systems, as well as questions about the application of alignment standards proposed by the researcher, in addition to making recommendations as it deems appropriate for the companies under study.
