Abstract : This study aims at evaluating the current status of Environmental Management represented by (the General Presidency of Meteorology and Environmental Protection) and the sources of Pollution in the city of Jeddah. To achieve these objectives the study included two aspects: theoretical as well as field analysis. The researcher used the descriptive method in both aspects. The theoretical side focused on the official sources; the regulations, systems, policies and agreements, studies, public and official statistics and other sources in data collection and analysis, with emphasis on the use of literature, experiments and similar foreign studies related to the subject research. The field aspect focused on collecting information through the design of a questionnaire which was distributed to a sample in the city of Jeddah. For data analysis; the researcher used repetition, percentages and averages, correlation coefficient (Pearson) and (Cronbach alpha) and (t) factor methods to ensure the stability of the questionnaire.The researcher has proved the validity of the hypothesis that there is no statistically significant differences in the abstract level (0.05) between the citizens and residents on one hand, and directors on the other hand; regarding the role of Environmental Management and the problems, obstacles and difficulties, and the cooperation of Environmental Management with other government and private sectors. And that there were significant differences in the abstract level (0.05) between the citizens and residents on one hand and directors on the other hand with regards to the achievements of Environmental Management for the benefit of managers. The study concluded a set of results, including: That there is a steady increase of the manifestations of pollution in Jeddah relative to past years, in addition to the continued presence of estuarine drainage to the sea and continued increase of vapors and fumes of factories and waste from medical and chemical laboratories. While the Environmental Management (General Presidency of Meteorology and Environmental Protection) is pursuing its role to protect the environment; there are many environmental initiatives that must be undertaken. The researcher has given several recommendations mainly; the need for efficient environmental planning and introducing effective and carefully studied laws and regulations to protect the environment and increase awareness .
