This study aims to determine the readiness of hospitals in the province of Jeddah in facing the disaster, and that by measuring the extent of knowledge of health workers, the characteristics of Disaster Plans (available human and material resources, the importance of training for cadres of administrative and medical, the importance of maintenance of equipment and buildings in the success of the plans of disaster), and determine the most important constraints the hospitals faced during the application of disaster plans. To achieve the objectives of the study it was done by the use of descriptive analytical method, where a questionnaire has been prepared and after making sure of the validity and reliability the questionnaire have been distributed on a random sample consisting of 495 single, was the collection and analysis of 377 single, including a response rate of 76%. The study has been using appropriate descriptive statistical methods and analytical to achieve the objectives of the study. The study results showed that the health workers know the characteristics of Disaster Plans of hospitals in Jeddah, and it showed the presence of ongoing maintenance of both buildings and medical equipment to ensure efficiency at the time of disaster, and it became clear that the most important constraints faced by hospitals during practicing the Disaster Plans include the shortage of rehabilitation and training, lack of equipment and equipments necessary to be used during disaster .One of the main recommendations of the study is the need to create departments of disasters in hospitals take everything related to disaster management, to benefit from international expertise in this area through the work of conferences and seminars, support training programs through the exchange of experiences and competencies with the hospitals and centers with global specialty centers. |
