Abstract : A few studies and publications in the Arab world have paid attention to the written policies in Arab libraries dealing with the services and measures that regulate and standardize their work patterns and practices.The following is a case study of a specific library in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It focuses on the importance of these policies, especially the written ones. We hope to raise more interest in the issue of the policies of Arab libraries and information centers and their systematic evaluation. This would imply regulating practices, assigning roles and responsibilities in addition to a follow-up to improve these centers.
