Abstract : This study addresses the definition of research tools available on the Internet and its attributes and characteristics. The study will define the difference between web directories, search engines and meta search engines, programs on which they depend, how they work, the proportion of the sites covered by each tool, and the time necessary for the emergence of new web pages in search engines. Besides examine trends King Abdul-Aziz University faculty members about the use of online research tools and how to utilize them, and the extent of dissatisfaction with the results of which recovered.
