Abstract : The last few years witnessed the emergence of research interest in Islamic Economics (IE) at the international scene. This phenomenon has added a positive contribution to mainstream economics. This is because IE has its special features and characteristics that certainly will have an impact on researches conducted in various fields that come under its auspicious. This special nature may give the researchers the opportunity to be creative and innovative. As a result intellectual property right protection will emerge as a prerequisite requirement to safeguard the efforts of researchers in this newly evolving discipline. The paper discusses this matter by tackling the objective strategies of research in IE. It then provides a general definition of intellectual property right and its scope. After that, the paper discusses the intellectual property right of researchers in IE and its conceptual framework. The paper aims from this discussion to determine the general features of this property right, its practical norms, and its legal effects.
