Abstract : This study aims at monitoring the trends, methods, means and methodologies that can be pursued or used in the research process of Islamic Economics. The focus, in this process has to be for enlightening the research road in this discipline so that researchers can follow the right direction that leads to the use of this paradigm for the betterment of the society. Researchers' efforts have to be focussed and conducted in a clearly determined methodology. To achieve this, the paper begins by stating the most important tools, means, shapes and methodologies of scientific research in Islamic Economics. Then an attempt is made to explore the roles and duties of researchers in Islamic Economics. In addition the current status of the discipline at Universities and other academic circles is explored. The study concludes that there exist a number of important determined subjects that come under Islamic Economics headings. There exist also various determined stages that can be the focus of research in Islamic Economics over the coming twenty years, that may lead to achieving progress and independence of the discipline that can keep it flourishing for the benefit and use of the Ummah.
