Abstract : The current study aimed to identify cyber-bullying and its impact on women in Saudi society by addressing several dimensions: the concept, the extent of the spread of cyber-bullying cases, the motives and causes, the role of social media networks as an incubating and appropriate environment for bullying, and methods of cyber-bullying by the bully, The methods of confrontation by the bullied, the method of followers’ interaction with bullying in social media networks, the areas of cyber-bullying, and finally the psychological, social and health effects of cyber-bullying on Saudi women. The study followed the quantitative and qualitative social survey methods. The data was collected quantitatively using the questionnaire tool, which relied on a comprehensive survey of sample from KAU affiliates (academics, administrators, and female students), and the sample reached 788 individuals. In addition, qualitative data were collected through a semi-structured interview conducted on a selected sample of 22 female affiliates of King Abdulaziz University, some influencers of social media networks, and experts in the fields of psychology, sociology, and media among faculty members from different Saudi universities. The study revealed a high degree of significance of some dimensions of the study in the research sample, namely: the sample’s knowledge of the concept of cyber-bullying, the level of the social media networking environment’s contribution to cyber bullying, the level of practicing cyberbullying methods in social media networks, the level of the prevalence of psychological, social, and health effects of the practice of cyber-bullying. Meanwhile, some of the dimensions targeted in the study achieved a moderate degree of significance, namely: the level of prevalence of cyber-bullying cases in Saudi society, the availability level of self and social motives for cyber-bullying, the level of using confrontation methods by the bullied, and the degree of followers’ interaction with cyber-bullying situations, were moderate in general. Also, the results showed that the most chosen fields among the causes of cyberbullying were the field of external appearance, followed by what a woman publishes about her daily life on social media networks, then their differing opinions and attitudes from others, and finally, being female.
