Abstract : This current study aims at verifying the effectiveness of an Counseling program for the development of positive social behavior as an Approach to improve the emotional security of a sample of orphan girls, using a semi-experimental approach; One-group Pretest Posttest design. The study sample consists of (10) girls from the Social Nursing House in Jeddah, aged between 9-12 years. To achieve the research objectives, the 14-session Counseling program was applied to the sample members, care providers evaluated the behavior of the sample members based on the positive social behavior scale, which was established by Bos, Polit & Quint (1997) after translating it and rechecking its validity and reliability to a representative sample of the current research sample. While the sample members completed the emotional security test scale conducted by the researcher, and after addressing the outcomes statistically using Wilcoxen to verify the differences between pretest, posttest and sequential performance, the results of the research concluded that there were no statistically significant differences between the pretest and posttest measures on the positive social behavior scale, while there were statistically significant differences between pretest and posttest measures on the emotional security scale in favor of posttest, yet, the findings did not show any statistically significant differences between the two measures of posttest and sequential measurements on the two scales of positive social behavior and emotional security. Based on the results, the researcher recommends that caregivers should be involved in any developmental or preventive intervention for children. selecting scientifically qualified incubators for this sensitive profession, taking care of their training and rehabilitation, and educating them about the fundamentals of attachment theory and the importance of responding and sensitivity to the child's needs.
