The SWOT analysis is an extremely useful tool for understanding and decision-making for all types of situations in business and organizations, especially in developing countries. SWOT is an acronym for the weaknesses, strengths, opportunities, and threats. The objective of this work is to explore the relationship between mobile technologies and social and economic development in various countries around the world based on SWOT analysis.
This article focus its analysis on the application of SWOT on some mobile operators and mobile technologies as these represent a big part of ICT investment throughout the world, and in the same time plays an increasing role in sectors such as education, agriculture, industry, and health sciences. Also, this paper addresses the economic and social consequences in those sectors, and some of returned benefits. The analysis also considers the commitment of the government and industry in influencing mobile technologies and innovative approaches to meet the needs of the market environment.
Finally, we concluded that we can enhance a SWOT analysis through some of critical and solid surveys. We can learn more about our own as well as competitor’s sites and businesses. The areas that we can research include (1) customer awareness, interest, trial, and usage levels, (2) brand, site, and/or company image, (3) importance of different site or product attributes to your customers, and (4) product and/or site performance. . |
