Abstract : This study aims at designing and implementing supplements of female fashions inspired by decoration elements during the Ottoman age. This is achieved by analyzing the Ottoman decorations on some artistic works, such as fashions, furniture, and artistic antiques of porcelain , metal, wood, and re-formalizing by using image treatment program (Adobe Photoshop 7.0 ME) for new designs characterized by originality and modernism.. The implementation is facilitated by using different means, such as mechanical embroidery, metal works, digital printing. The study adopted the historical and analytical descriptive method. The study also includes an applied part by introducing supplements of costumes from the suggested designs cited from the Ottoman age decoration heritage. The study tools consisted of a computer and questionnaires to realize the opinions of the sample of the study of “15” specialists in the field of costumes and weaving, and a sample of “125” consumers regarding design proposals inspired by Islamic decorations heritage; in addition to the raw materials for supplementary pieces. The researcher exhibited “22” design proposals, out of which the best “10” chosen by the sample of consumers were implemented. The study results showed the existence of statistical difference at the level indicator (0.01-0.05) between the average grades of some of the ten decoration designs renewed from the decorations of the Ottoman era both aesthetically and functionally as per the opinion of the specialists. There were no statistical differences between the average grades of some of the designs, which partially prove the first hypothesis. There were also statistical differences at the level indicator (0.01-0.05) between the average grades of some of the renewed ten Ottoman era designs according to the opinion of the consumers. There were no statistical differences between the average grades of some of the designs which partially prove the second hypothesis. The researcher recommends the necessity of the technical treatment of the Islamic decorations in a contemporary style by using modern techniques of design and implementation, and with due consideration for preserving the spirit of the culture and history of the Islamic source.
