Abstract : Organizations of today are facing the challenge ofintegrating individual needs and organizational goals, collaboration, managing of conflicts and adaptation to a changing environment. This led to the need of planning of change, and utilization of human inquiry to help organizations solve their problems, learning and leadership development, in order tocope with globalization and the revolution ofcommunication and information. Research is vital in the process of change and organization development, but experience shows that science has become so abstract, emphasizing on the positivist model of science with their deficiencies as a method forgenerating knowledge and in solving problems that organizations face. This study shows that Action Research which base its scientific legitimacy on the pragmatismphilosophyand as an approachofinquiry and problem solving will be more capable of dealing with the new challenge.
