The Ginger Reduced the Toxic Effect of Neotigason Drug on the Kidney of Rats

Abstract : Acitretin (Neotigason) drug is considered to be the latest medicine prescribed to those who are injected by psoriasis but this drug has several side effects that restrict its use. We used ginger plant to reduce the acuteness of these effects. The present work was performed on (30) males albino rats weighted (150-180) gms and its ages from (6-7) weeks. Animals had been divided into. Three groups:- The first group: included the controlled animals. Distilled water had been given to them during the period of the experiment. The second group:-Included the treated animals by Acitretin drug with a dose of (0.2 ml/kg daily) through the stomach tube during three months. The third group:-Included the animals treated by the drug and ginger together with a dose of (0.2 ml/kg daily) from each treatment through the stomach tube during three months. The animals groups had been subjected to anatomy in three stages (after one month, two months and three months). Histoexamination of kidney cortex of animals treated by Acitretin drug had shown disorder in the distinguished structure of the kidney tissue, also necrosis has been noticed in some urinous tubules cells together with bleeding in the glomeruli and atrophied some of them and some protein materials deposition inside the renal tubules. While the histoexamination of kidney tissue of rats treated by both the drug and ginger had shown that the kidney tissue had approximately regained its natural constitution.
